Forgotten Realms By Author
Philosophy / Fantasy book recomendations? (His Dark Materials)?
I just finished Phillip Pullman’s his dark materials, Any recommendations on similar books?
Ive already read narnia and harry potter (did not enjoy narnia that much, though i did not dislike it).
I’m 17 and also read “the legend of drizzt” from the forgotten realms. That was a book i enjoyed as well.
I also enjoyed Black Dogs by Ian McEwan (Author of the Atonement)
I think I enjoy that atheism vrs. religion topic and i also enjoy fantasy.
John L, is that book much harder than McEwan? Black Dogs seems to be as hard as i can get without needing a dictionary, I will nevertheless definitely read Wheel of Time anyways
Read the “Wheel of Time” by Robert Jordan. It is a little longer and more epic than Salvatore or any of the other writers you listed but it is well worth the read.
“The Sword of Truth” by Terry Goodkind is a great read and is a little bit easier than Jordan.
“Dragonlance” by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis is a light, funny and entertaining read. It is much closer to the likes of Salvatore and less epic than the above.
Jack Whyte wrote a series about Camulod which is really good in the sense that it encorporates the Arthurian legend into actual history and makes the tale believable.
Those are some of my favorites. If you liked the Drizzt books then you can also look to other forgotten realms books. The war of the spider queen series is a good place to start and the Erevis Cale Trilogy and subsequent shadowwars trilogy are great too.
